They are increasingly considered as brakes to competing in the global political economy because of their economic inefficiency. The corporate environment in the four countries is still very much male oriented. But putting traditional business practices in question indirectly weakens the dominant position of men in relative terms. They are considered to have more difficulty than women in dealing with changes in the modernity paradigm precisely because of their vested interests in the traditional system.
