This group in particular, with their enthusiasm for the material, their passion for social justice, and their feminist fervor, made me newly appreciate the relevance of my work to others. They have greatly inspired me in that final, important phase of finishing the book. I could not be more pleased with the “home” I found for my book as part of the NYU Press series Gender and Political Violence. I am grateful to the editors and the advisory board of New York University Press and to series editor Laura Sjoberg for their enthusiasm for the project.
